The Real Good News

I’m a design engineer and over fifty. Twenty-eight years ago I was earnestly seeking the explanation of the chaos, and uncertainty of everyday life. I thought about God because I have a Jewish background. I had read the Bible from cover to cover, because I realized it to be the most influential book in modern history, but without any kind of light. Eventually, in desperation I prayed that if God was real he would make Himself real to me, and the next day the real Gospel was spoken to me.

The real Gospel was that Jesus Christ is life, a God who is not for sending me to heaven (a concept I found utterly unbelievable), but to enliven me and become one with me (John 1:12-13, 1 Cor. 6:17). This was shocking, and interesting. Eventually I called on the Lord Jesus to make Himself real to me, and He did (Acts 2:21).

Shortly after my regeneration I attended a meeting where Witness Lee spoke. After listening to him speak for a few minutes, I was overwhelmed with the deep realization that I was hearing unbiased truth for the first time in my life about the reality, and meaning of human life; and for this I thank God continually.

As I pursued the Lord, I immersed myself in the writings of Watchman Nee, and Witness Lee. I found them to be honest, straightforward, full of light, and to the point. It was through their writings that I saw, and was lead into the experience of Christ as life, and the church as the Body of Christ (John 1:4, Eph. 1:22-23). I’m ever grateful, and thankful for the ministry of these two brothers.
