The Lord Brought Me to the Church

“I will instruct you and teach you concerning the way you should go; I will counsel you; my eye is upon you”(Psalm 32:8).

The Lord in His sovereignty brought me to the local church more than thirty years ago. I moved from one state to another state to take a job teaching school. Through this move the Lord led me to the local church where I heard the ministry of Witness Lee, which brought me into the enjoyment of Christ. Eventually I began to realize that God has a plan and purpose for all of His children. This purpose is for Christ to work Himself into His believers so that they may be built up together to be the Lord’s corporate expression, the church.

I have been a Christian since my childhood. I began seeking the Lord especially during my college years. After trying many Christian groups, I still was looking for something more in the Christian life. I found that the Lord is faithful to hear cries from the heart of His children. The Lord arranged circumstances and an environment for me to discover and come into the local church where I felt at home with all the believers. I have not regretted it at all.

My appreciation of Christ has increased since I saw Him as the One who has passed through the process of incarnation, human living, crucifixion, resurrection and ascension so that He could come into His believers. Now Christ is making His home in my heart through faith. (Eph. 3:17)

What has kept me through these years is the vision of what God desires, the enjoyment of Christ in all His riches, and the truths in the Bible that reveal God’s desire in creating man for His eternal purpose. This gives eternal meaning to my human life.

As I look back over more than thirty years of enjoying the Lord’s guidance through the ministries of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee, I thank the Lord for His mercy in bringing me the way of His recovery and causing me to pursue towards the goal which God is accomplishing on the earth, especially during these last decades of the twentieth century.
