Fellowship Concerning the Urgent Need of the Vital Groups Messages Eight and Nine continue the fellowship from Message Seven on the vital groups in the church life. It begins with pointing out a number of factors that need to be considered in grouping the saints together in the vital groups. Additional, a burden for reaching the typical American community was presented. It is true that God does not regard persons (Acts 10:34), but the Caucasians regard persons. Therefore something particular needs to be done to gain the Caucasian people.
The burden for the vital groups is related to the Lord’s need for overcomers. The calling of the overcomers is the last demand that the Lord made in the entire Bible. For the vitals groups, we need to pray in a new way to meet the new need. When we pray, we should simply tell the Lord directly what we want. In Paul’s two prayers in Ephesians, he did not give any instructions to God; rather, he prayed, he begged, and he entreated. We should pray to recover the church as a group of people who have been dynamically saved by God. A proper Christian, an overcomer, is one who is constantly under a dynamic motivation.
In the vital groups we need to keep the oneness, love one another, and have the one accord. We need to fellowship to know one another thoroughly. If we do not know one another, we cannot love one another. We also need training to go on from the matter of fellowship to the gospel visitation for gospel preaching. May the Lord have mercy on us that we could have a real revival in Him and through His Spirit.
Quote from p. 64:
To be a man, I must be a Christian; to be a Christian, I must be in His church, in His recovery; and to be in His recovery, I must be an overcomer.
